Mary Magdalene Meets the Risen Jesus

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. Mary loved Jesus very much.

But the big stone was rolled away! The tomb was empty. Where was Jesus?

Mary cried and cried. Then she saw a man in the garden. She thought he was the gardener.

Then the man softly said her name, Mary. And she knew him right away. It was Jesus! He was alive!

Jesus sent Mary to tell his friends the happy news. Off she ran! She told them she had seen Jesus.

Jesus is alive, and he knows your name too. God loves you!
