Elijah on Mount Carmel

Elijah loved God with all his heart.

But many people had forgotten God. They prayed to a make-believe god named Baal.

Baal's helpers called and called, all day long. Baal! Baal! But nothing happened. Baal could not hear them.

Then Elijah built an altar out of big stones. He put wood on top, and he poured on water. Splash, splash, splash!

Elijah prayed to God.

And God sent fire from heaven! Whoosh! The fire burned it all up, even the water!

Now all the people knew who the true God was.

God hears you when you pray. God loves you!
